(a) Minimalist (in) Södertälje

Textures studio project at KTH, individual work

2019

Can minimalism be related to sustainability and is it enough in terms of its environmental impact —households’ consumption— to make a change and reduce our emissions? By 2050, with a growing population, Södertälje must attend to a great housing demand. The project addresses this by challenging the culture of housing ownership in favor of a culture of access and smaller individual spaces with more shared facilities. With this intervention, the city starts to retrofit neighborhoods, spaces and the access to them using the current streets.
