Participatory workshops

Volunteer work and competition, done in collaboration with Ricardo da Cruz e Sousa and Filiberto Viteri

2016

The project aims to be a community project for the reduction of floods and ecosystem restoration in Voluntad de Dios, an informal settlement in the north-west of Guayaquil. A series of workshops were conducted to learn from the community about the conditions and the problems that they face due to flooding. The design proposes a channel as a structuring element to protect the margins against landslides through the construction of limestone structures, reforestation with native species and the help of the community.
